No, I'm sorry but even in-character as Lena, Seymore was not a good way to make money.
It's just about making money.
It's not about a good or bad way to make money.
I'm saying someone that is in dire need of money doesn't have the leeway to choose. To some people, choice are a luxury.
Life of a middle class person is really not the same with the life of a struggling person.
Even prior to dinner, Seymour is already written in the game as lecherous since the first Art Gallery meet.
But Lena has little option to make money.
When someone is in a position of really needing money, they take what they can get.
And what Lena can get at the time is Seymour's offer.
Since behind the scene he orchestrated in such a way that Lena would lose a part of her income, which Lena never know if she is relatively neutral to Seymour's offers.
As much as Lena likes writing songs, Lena herself does not have as strong of a belief that she can make money off of music compared to Ian's Author route. This was shown after the sex scenes in Ch 7 when she asked Ian how does he have the strength to keep pushing the Author route.
Ian has relatively more choice, Lena has relatively fewer.
Unlike Ian with his dad's money as a fallback option, Lena doesn't have that.
A version of Lena "needs" to send money to her family.
So her option if she wants to avoid Seymour is to not send money to her parents. Or steal from Ed. Or do Onlyfans.
Eva also write it in such a way that Lena can draw the line at Chapter 11 and quit.
I think it's really great that Eva is offering that line in the sand exit for a dutiful-to-her-parents Lena in Ch 11 with regards to Seymour.
Ch 11 Lena has Perry the mayor son as a new option.
She also has Emma as a new band mate as another option.
Early chapter Lena that got invited to dinner with Seymour does not yet have those options. It's either Onlyfans or Seymour dinner, or both.
